What is your class size?
The maximum class size at CCS is 16 students for grades 3-5. However, in grades 5 and up, two additional spaces are reserved for siblings or teachers’ children for whom we would otherwise not have space.
Are you a "classical school?"
CCS incorporates elements of "classical education" into its philosophy and practice. For instance, our reading lists contain many examples of timeless literature that would be included in most "classical schools." We believe that children should be exposed to rich menu of literature. However, we also choose literature that will generate student interest, this includes some contemporary titles.
We are "classical" in that we teach Latin.
We are "classical" in that we value the concept of the "Trivium." However, we teach critical thinking skills from early childhood, believing that elements of the dialectic and rhetoric can be included in the elementary school years.
How are learning differences addressed?
CCS is not equipped to meet the needs of children with many types of learning differences and is therefore unable to enroll some students. The school offers Alphabetic Phonics for students who appear to need extra support in language and reading. The number of students enrolled in Alphabetic Phonics is limited and students are admitted on a priority system.
What extra-curricualr activities do you offer?
Crossings is a member of the Oklahoma Secondary Schools Activities Association (OSSAA) and offers a wide variety of activities. Athletics include Baseball, Basketball, Cheerleading, Cross Country, Golf, Indoor Soccer, Softball, Tennis, Track and Wrestling. We will continue to add sports according to interest and as our school numbers grow. Other activities include competitive academic teams and individual events, Pep Band and Drama Team. We are always interested in opportunities for our kids to demonstrate their talents while displaying God's love for others. Our primary focus for extra-curricular events is to cultivate Christian character in our students.
What is the highest grade you offer?
It is the intention of the School Board to continue adding one grade per year. The first senior class will graduate in 2012.

Are your teachers certified?
CCS requires all teachers to be certified with either the Association of Christian Schools International or the Oklahoma State Department of Education. Preference in hiring is given to applicants with state certification in their subject area.
What is the relationship of Crossings Christian School and Crossings Community Church?
CCS is a ministry of Crossings Community Church. CCS is a separate 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization and is financially separate from Crossings Community Church. While the two organizations are financially separate, the church supports the school through access to church facilities, programs, and in many other ways. The Crossing Community Church Board of Elders must approve of all School Board nominees and two elders from CCC must sit as voting members on the School Board. Marty Grubbs, CCC senior pastor, sits on the School Board as an ex-officio member.
Do you use Christian textbooks?
At CCS, curriculum refers to the entire school program, from classroom instruction to chapel to extra-curricular activities. Our goal is to develop students into young people with a thoroughly biblical worldview and with skills to excel in college. We consider our teachers to be the living curriculum. In regards to textbooks, we use materials from both Christian and secular publishers. We biblically integrate all curriculum and don’t take it for granted that because educational material comes from a Christian publisher that it is the best choice for developing our students academically or spiritually.
