Middle School/Upper School Academic Counselor

 

Mrs. Shields joined CCS in 2009. She has a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Oklahoma State University and a Master of Arts degree in Education, specifically College Teaching with an emphasis in Student Personnel Services from Northeastern State University. Mrs. Shields is certified by the Association of Christian Schools International as a School Counselor Specialist and as a secondary teacher. She has experience teaching 7th, 8th, 9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th grade English classes as well as undergraduate college courses. Mrs. Shields is called to work with tweens and teens. Her career objective is to assist CCS students in succeeding academically and to graduate with servant hearts and, most important, personal relationships with Christ. 

 

The Shields family includes her husband of sixteen years, George; eleven-year-old son, Grant; and, eight-year-old daughter, Susan. When not working Mrs. Shields likes to exercise, volunteer at church, and participate in small group bible studies. The book of John has been most influential in her Christian walk, and the scripture that has special meaning to her is Psalms 47:9: The (S)hields of the earth belong to God; He is greatly exalted.
