1st Grade

Melissa has a B.S. in Early Childhood Education and a Masters Degree in Human Development, and has been with Crossings since 2007. Her previous teaching experience was in preschool and first grade.

Melissa loves teaching students to read and write. She says, “Watching the amazing progress of my students is more entertaining than any movie ever made! What could be better than a big pile of stories written by first graders or the huge smile that graces a child’s face when a difficult reading word has been conquered? What a blessing!”

Melissa enjoys reading and baking. She has a wonderful husband, two fabulous boys, and a very close extended family. They all love spending lots of time at the lake.
